8th Grade Concert and Sightreading Contest

UIL Concert & Sightreading

Van 8^th Grade Band

Wednesday, April 15, 2026 at Chapel Hill High School

8:20 – Called down to the band hall to load and leave (need to be in concert black at this time)

9:15– Load buses and Leave for Chapel Hill High School

10:15 – Arrive at Chapel Hill High School unload use restroom 

10:50 – Line up to move to warm-up

11:05 – Warm Up Time!

11:35 – PERFORMANCE TIME!

12:00 – Sight Reading Time!

12:30 – Meet at bus for a Picture. I will tell you what rating we received at this time. We will have pizza for lunch at this time. (pizza and water provided)

1:15 – Load & Leave for home

2:15 – Arrive back in Van, put instrument away (you may change out of your black)

3:00 – 3:30 – Go over Comment Sheets and Listen to Our Recording

Boys: Black Shoes/Socks, Black Dress Pants/Slacks, Collared Black Dress Shirt 

Girl: Black Dress Shoes, Black Dress Pants/Slacks, Black Dress Shirt/Blouse

    (it is important that we do our very best to look our very best!)
